To my 6 month old monster.

I’m not sure when or how this has crept up, but how on Earth are you 6 months old already!? Half a year! It’s gone way too fast and it’s crazy to think that if we go at the rate we are we’ll be celebrating your first birthday tomorrow!
You have changed our lives in so many ways. We used to wake up slowly with a coffee, take in the light and quietly get ourselves ready for the day ahead. Now we wake up, with heavy eyes and it feels like an army expedition to get ready to go to the shop. We could spend hours with the horses, or simply nip out. But you came crashing in to our lives and somehow taught me to be even more organised!
You never fail to make us smile, even when you wake us up at 5am, when you fall back to sleep in my arms I smile at your content face and wonder what you’re dreaming about. Your laugh and smile are infectious and you’re beautiful big blue eyes make us melt. You are such a happy baby, exploring everything and anything and I know it won’t be long until you’re on the move. You take after me there, you can’t stand being still! We have watched your little personality appear and I am so excited to see who you become, you’re independent and stubborn and don’t we damn well know that you know what you want.
We love all of your funny little ways. Like having to rub a blanket or muslin on your face, wriggling out of ANY swaddle you’re wrapped in so your hands can be above your head and how you talk to yourself as you fall asleep.
It’s been a rollercoaster with you being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis and you are thriving! You’ve doubled your birth weight and we’re now in to weaning territory (carrots aren’t a favourite of yours at the moment).
You were our wonderful surprise and I am so excited to see what you will become in the next 6 months. You have given us so much joy and laughter, more than I thought was possible, my life is full of so much love because of you. You may of changed our lives in many ways, but I wouldn’t want to go back to it. You have made me a better person, a stronger person than I was before.
I love you, our little Burito xx'
